His & Her Style Tips for Winter

Fall and winter are my favorite times of year for fashion and style — probably because of all the added texture and layers we get to incorporate into our outfits.

Thanks to Sézane and OCTOBRE for sponsoring this post, below are 3 style tips you and your partner can consider when getting dressed this winter!

Read on for tips + outfit inspo!

Tip #1

For her — a knit set or dress is always reliable for chic and effortless dressing during the winter. I’m wearing my normal size in both the chocolate cardigan and skirt. This knit skirt is one of my favorites and comes in multiple colors! If you live somewhere cold, just top it off with a long (think skimming your calves or ankles) coat. I’m particularly drawn to tailored coat this season with a lining for extra warmth.

For hima chino is the male equivalent for reliablility when you’re looking for a pant that isn’t as casual as denim or as formal as a dress pant. A beige chino is always a safe bet, but a burgundy or olive green adds some depth and richness to a look this time of year. Shel took his normal size in the pants, but had to get the length hemmed (his inseam is normally a 32). His sweater and navy jacket are also from Octobre — both are very soft and great basics! These pieces do tend to run small and he sized up in both. The jacket is lightweight and unlined — the perfect weight if you live in a more mild climate.

Tip #2

For hera knee high boot is a dependable shoe to pair with mini or maxi hemlines this time of year. It’s a practical style to add warmth and if you’re wearing with a longer hemline, you could easily layer fleece lined tights under for additional warmth.  I took my normal size in the boot and found the shaft to fit a little wide, but the perfect height.

For him — if casual is the vibe, a suede pair of mocassin inspired wallabees from Clarkes always makes me think of fall and winter style. The wallabee is a great swap to wear instead of a sneaker or loafer. Shel has had his boot style for years, but they also come in this shorter loafer style.

Tip #3

For her — This time of year is also synonymous with party outfits and festive style. A sequined trouser paired with a knit or white button up is a simple formula for festive dressing. Add a fun bag and red lip and you’re ready to go! These sequined trousers run a little big and long and required some alterations. The pants have a lining so you don’t feel the sequins. I took my normal size in the ivory sweater. I love the braided details along the sleeves and neckline.

For him — For your upcoming office holiday party, pair your dress pants with a thin merino wool roll neck turtleneck. The merino wool adds in texture, warmth, and still feels very polished. Finish off with a tailored top coat if you need an additional layer. Shel took his normal size in the pants, but did have the length altered. He sized up in the turtleneck and it still had a slim fit.

Thank you again to Sézane for sponsoring this post! If you’re not familiar with the brand, Sézane is a Parisian brand that just celebrated its 10 year anniversary. Season after season, the label delivers effortless french girl fashion with a feminine and vintage vibe. I’m so excited to continue partnering with Sézane through this winter to continue to share more of their beautiful pieces and styling inspo! OCTOBRE has also quickly become one of Shel’s favorite stores to look for new pieces to add to his wardrobe.

As always, please feel free to send me a comment, email, or direct message on instagram if you have any fit questions! I’m always happy to help!

Until next time, Kelly
