Fall is such a beautiful time of year in DC and the surrounding smaller towns — if you drive an hour outside the city, you find yourself in the rolling hills of Virginia with striking folage in rich shades of yellow, red, and orange. We spent a recent Sunday with friends enjoying a beautiful vineyard outside of DC — the air was crisp and the leaves were in the early stages of turning. Thanks to Sézane for sponsoring this post, read on for what I wore for an afternoon at Crimson Lane Vineyards.
Sézane has great knitwear and the Melvin sweater is the perfect amount of cozy and “chunky knit” without feeling bulky. It is a cotton blend, so it is soft with no itch. As a side note — if you have sensitive skin, you should always plan to layer with a light base layer when wearing the alpaca or mohair knits from Sézane as those are a little scratchy. I paired the knit with a fall forward mini skirt in a lovely green shade. If you have a more curvy butt/hips, consider sizing up in the skirt. I sized up since my normal size was too tight through the butt/hips. A knee high boot is a great way to balance out the shorter hemline of the mini skirt and the block heel on the boot was practical for walking around the vineyard. I took my normal size in the boot and found the shaft to fit a little wide, but the perfect height. Topped it all off with my new favorite jacket from Sezane — I constantly get compliments on this when I wear it! I took my normal size and it fits perfectly for layering.
Thank you again to Sézane for sponsoring this post! If you’re not familiar with the brand, Sézane is a Parisian brand that just celebrated its 10 year anniversary. Season after season, the label delivers effortless french girl fashion with a feminine and vintage vibe. I’m so excited to continue partnering with Sézane through this Fall and Winter to share more of their beautiful pieces and styling inspo!
As always, please feel free to send me a comment, email, or direct message on instagram if you have any fit questions! I’m always happy to help!
