When you’re in a rush, having your tried and true outfit formulas help simplify the process of getting dressed and out the door. They’re the combinations that leave you feeling confident and ready to take on the day! Thanks to Sézane for sponsoring this post, I’m sharing 3 failproof formulas that I always fall back on for styling chic outfits during the spring.
The contrast between the feminine lace blouse and masculine loafer creates the perfect balance for a smart casual, daytime polished look. The details on the Gaya blouse are beyond stunning and are a sophisticated take on the sheer/lace/boudoir trend. I layered a nude/beige v-neck tank under it, but plan to wear it sans layer for a future date night. I found the blouse to run a little on the big side.
I paired the blouse with the Brut Sexy denim, a classic slim straight leg denim. This classic denim wash is 100% cotton and a rigid fit that runs small. I sized up 1 and the fit was still snug for the first few wears. A classic trenchcoat is a must in my wardrobe for Spring and Fall and I’m excited to add the navy shade to my closet. The Scott Trench comes in 3 shades (classic camel, olive khaki, and navy blue) and is rain resistant. It does not have a hood, but is otherwise so chic for rain or shine. I took my normal size and love how it fits. Adding in a masculine touch with the Vicky loafers – the leather is so soft and comfortable from the first wear, but take note that the loafer runs slightly big and wide. I initially ordered a 7 and had to size down to 6.5 (which is a 37 in EU sizing).
Formula #2 is another smart casual combination that is my go to formula for workwear. The tailored Dan trouser adds instant polish to the outfit. The trousers are composed of 43% wool – which adds warmth and that added texture we associate with cold weather, but the lighter white shade will transition effortlessly into spring. I can’t wait to style a tonal look with these! I typically wear a size 0, but that size was sold out and I ordered the size 2. A little big in the waist, but overall fit great and only needed to have the length hemmed. Plan to wear nude undergarments with the trousers!
I paired the trousers with the classic Gaspard cardigan. This has become a staple in my wardrobe as it is so versatile, dressed up or down, with the buttons in the front or back! I find the fit to be slightly oversized and prefer how the size down fits. The mohair and alpaca knit is slightly itchy so keep that in mind if you have sensitive skin!
Does it get any more effortlessly cool than double denim? Whether it is a denim shirt or denim jacket, denim on denim is one of my favorite combinations! I am always on the hunt for the perfect white tshirt and I am loving the Conrad white tshirt. It is soft, slightly relaxed, and there is a little added length on the sleeve – not too boxy with enough length to tuck in and is not see through. It has quickly become a favorite. I took my true size.
I paired the Conrad white tshirt with the same Brut sexy classic slim straight denim and Vicky loafers and topped it off with an elevated denim jacket. I took my true size in the Erwana denim jacket and found it to fit slightly oversized.
For both outfits 1 and 3, I styled with the micro milo bag. A raffia bag is an absolute essential for me during the warmer months. It adds in a textural element and I always look for bags with leather trim and hardware to elevate it beyond just a basic beach bag. It is the perfect accessory for the season.
