3 Outfits I’m Excited to Wear this Fall!

Yesterday was the first day of Fall and it definitely felt like it. It was chilly and rainy in DC – we even considered having a fire! We haven’t used our fireplace in the last few years, but got it fixed this summer and I can’t wait for our first fire 🙂 Anyways, I digress – here are 3 fall outfits I’m plotting to wear as soon as possible! Thanks to Sézane for sponsoring this post – read on for outfit inspo!

Outfit 1

There’s something about the contrast between a silky trouser and oversized knit that I love so much – it’s all about the textures!! I’m wearing a size 2 in the trousers (went with this size based off the denim sizing guide size recs for) and had the length taken up. They’re a creamy ivory shade with a slight yellow undertone. For the knit, I took an XS to keep a more oversized fit. I often will layer my knits with a white shirt, but there is a little scratchiness to the knit if wearing solo. Keep that in mind if you have sensitive skin!! I love the look with the sweater untucked (more effortless vibe) or tucked (more polished, waist defining) – all about your personal preference!

Outfit 2

Knit dresses are synonymous with fall and winter style for me – versatile for daytime casual to date night depending on accessories and styling details. The mahogany shade of this one, rich chocolate with some reddish undertones, aligns perfectly with my chocolate obsession this fall. I took my normal size for a slightly body skimming, but still looser fit! The knit is not scratchy or itchy.

Outfit 3

One of my go to formulas for a casual fall outfits: a striped sweater, denim, and ankle boots. This striped sweater is a 100% merino wool and not itchy at all. I love the ribbing detail along the cuff and neckline with the slightly swinging silhouette. I took my normal size for a relaxed, just slightly oversized fit. When a layer is called for, a trench coat is a dependable choice for keeping the look tailored and smart with a touch of utilitarian. If you’re looking for a shorter trench (rather than a floor sweeping style), this trench is water repellant and beautifully made with thoughtful details (buttons down the back vent!!) I take my normal size in this trench.
