As much as I’m a neutral lover through and through, lately I’ve been craving some color. This doesn’t mean neon bright color, but rather pops of classic reds, shades of blue, chocolate browns, and utility/khaki olives (to name a few). Thanks to Sézane for sponsoring this post, I put together 3 outfit ideas incorporating those colors and how I plan to wear through the end of summer and into fall!
Read on for outfit inspo!
I know I shouldn’t choose favorites, but I love this outfit. I’m a long time fan of a double denim look and incorporating the pop of red with the chocolate bag really brings it allllll together for me for fall. Sezane has two styles of denim shirts, depending on the fit and wash you’re looking for – there are options! I’m wearing the denim Max with this outfit – the Max has an oversized fit (wearing my normal size), which contrast perfectly against the slim cut of the denim. If you’re looking for a slim straight denim, this style has such a classic look. The denim is an 100% rigid cotton and if you’re hesitant to give up your skinny jeans, this slim straight leg is a *safe* compromise. I find this denim to run small and sized up 1. The 100% cotton will relax some with wears, but there is no elastic stretch.
If you’re hesitant to incorporate color, shades of olive/khaki are so muted that I consider them a neutral (just an earthy neutral that gives some depth!). Transitional weather = Trench coat weather. A trench coat is a must have in my wardrobe during fall and spring. It’s that polished layer we’re all looking for on crisp fall mornings. I have slowly been building out my “trench collection” over the last few years and this olive khaki is my newest addition. If you’re looking for a shorter trench (rather than a floor sweeping style), this trench is water repellant and beautifully made with thoughtful details (buttons down the back vent!!) I take my normal size in this trench. The olive khaki pairs well with the classic light blue oxford for just the slightest pop of color. Sézane has great classic shirts – this is the Tomboy style, which is more slim cut compared to the Max. I size up 1 in the Tomboy.
Just like the olive, navy is close to a neutral in my book since it pairs effortlessly with other colors; I especially love how it pairs with this dusty, rosey, mauve color! The rosey shade is like a washed out burgundy, which I find gives some softness to the look, while still feeling perfectly on trend with fall tones to come. I see every outfit as a formula and this formula of a wide leg trouser + blouse is one of my fail proof combinations for the office. These navy trousers are one of my favorites (I wear at least once a week to the office) – the high rise and sans pleat front always leave me feeling polished and chic. I’m wearing a size 2 (chose my size based off the size guide) and had the length taken up. The blouse has the prettiest high collar and embroidered lace collar/trim – I’m wearing a size 2. While the navy blazer/jacket does not perfectly match the trouser, it pairs well if you want to try out the suiting trend. The gold double breasted buttons take the blazer up a style notch. I plan to style the blazer on it’s own – buttoned up for a chic date night look!
