Anyone else feeling overwhelmed (in the best way possible) with all the fun upcoming (think dinner parties with friends, baby showers, quick weekends away, and destination weddings to name a few!) summer occasions?! Thanks to Sézane and OCTOBRE for sponsoring this post, Shel and I put together 3 outfit ideas to wear to your next summer occasion – whether you booked weeks in advance or it’s a last minute rendezvous, we’ve got you covered!
This floral maxi dress is perfect for a baby shower (or destination wedding!). I wore it last weekend to a baby shower and got multiple compliments on it – the statement, asymmetric shoulder tie really adds a chic punch. I’m wearing a size 2 and found it to run slightly large. The loose fitting silhouette would work well with an expecting bump too! I’m 5’4” and did not have to get the length hemmed. I paired with the isadora cream block sandals – I always look for wedges or block heels for a more practical approach to outdoor events. My only complaint about the shoes is that the ankle strap buckle sits too far on the front of my ankles rather than on the side of my ankle. For my sunglasses, I styled all 3 outfits with these sunnies
Shel is wearing a classic blue button up from OCTOBRE, Sezane’s brother company for menswear. It is 100% cotton and the subtle white threading adds depth and interest beyond just any other blue button up. The shirt does run slim and he sized up 1 size.
A classic shirt dress is always a versatile option, and this cream dress is one of those “wear on repeat” items. I’m wearing my normal size and there is a little elastic stretch to it that makes it extra comfortable. I love the wrap detail at the waist for a little added definition. It comes in multiple different colorways, but sells out frequently, so snag it while you can! I chose to pair the neutral dress with a woven clutch that had muted shades of green and pink for a slight pop of color and added texture!
Shel is wearing a navy knit polo – this is sure to be a new favorite! We both loved the lightweight knit texture and the contrast of the tan wooden buttons against the navy. He sized up 1 from his normal size. He finished off the look with a classic pair of dark brown tortoise sunglasses.
With the hot and humid temps that DC is known for, we’re hoping to attend as many pool parties as possible to stay cool this summer. Stripes on stripes, I styled this relaxed and oversized striped shirt dress as a coverup with a few buttons loosely undone. Button up the buttons and cinch the waist with the matching belt (or wear without the belt like I did this past weekend!) for a casual day outfit. I’m wearing a size small dress and it is intended to have an oversized fit.
I love the color and length of Shel’s swim shorts – he found these to fit true to size. Paired with an off white t-shirt and classic brown sunglasses. The t-shirt is a wardrobe basic that is a thin, lightweight material. Because of the thinner material, we both thought it was better suited for casual outings. And no pool party is complete without cute towels, right? These striped towels are available in blue, yellow, or green – hardest part is deciding what color to choose!
Thank you again to Sézane for sponsoring this post! If you’re not familiar with the brand, Sézane is a Parisian brand that just celebrated its 10 year anniversary. Season after season, the label delivers effortless french girl fashion with a feminine and vintage vibe. I’m so excited to continue partnering with Sézane through this Summer to share more of their beautiful pieces and styling inspo! This campaign with Shel was especially fun – we both loved adding some of the staple OCTOBRE pieces to his wardrobe. I often get questions about menswear and would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on including Shel in more future content when possible?!
As always, please feel free to send me a comment, email, or direct message on instagram if you have any fit questions! I’m always happy to help!
