Work to Weekend Style

As I’ve gotten older, the more I value versatility in my wardrobe. I’m always considering if (and how) an item will translate from my desk to out and about on weekends. A tailored trouser has proved to be a versatile item for me. It is easily dressed up or down and always adds polish to a look, but remains incredibly comfortable due to the loose fitting silhouette. For the Office

While the trousers are considered cream, I found them to pull a little more yellow – similiar to a light butter shade. I love that they’re a linen blend – they’re light and airy feeling, perfect for summer! I found them to run slightly big. I’m 5’4 and typically wear a 24 in denim. I had the length taken up and waist taken in. To keep the trousers looking smart, I paired with a classic striped shirt (Sézane always does stripes beautifully – as you would expect from a Parisian brand!!) and a woven heeled sling back. I took my normal size in the top and found it to run slightly oversized. I love the texture from the woven leather on the shoes. Make sure to double check the US sizes on the size chart. I found them to fit true to size based off the US sizing. My office is always chilly, so adding a gaspard cardigan over my shoulders for both function and style. and compliments the yellow undertones of the trouser while adding some layered depth to the look. The gaspard cardigan runs oversized, so consider sizing down if you prefer a relaxed fit (rathed than oversized). Finished off with a basket bag – my summer bag of choice! I love the dual handles on this one – the leather on mine is navy and this exact style has been sold out for weeks/months at this point. It is not big enough to fit a laptop, but can carry alot with an interior canvas drawstring pouch.

For the Weekend

Dressing the trousers down for the weekend, I paired with a classic high neck tank top. I love the weight of this tank, the slight elastic stretch, and high neck cut. I will definitely wbe ordering this in other colorways! I found it to fit true to size. To keep the look clean and cohesive, I paired with black accessories, a black belt, minimal sandals, and a bucket bag. This is the first belt I’ve gotten from Sézane. The black laquer and gold buckle look super luxe for under $100. My sunglasses are a dark khaki color – I love the khaki shade as a neutral that isn’t black or brown.
